Gofta multi-purpose co-operative society in the year 2007, has done enormous work for the benefit of the
People. Gofta is a group formed by some organized traders in Benin City. Idea initiated by Mr. Agbonlahor Osakue Osamuyimen. It started as a small group of just 11 traders. Within A short time, the good work we are doing begins to reflect, this makes many onlookers to be interested in the group. And within a short time of existence, this body was recognized by the government, which enhanced the certification of the body by the Co-operative Federation of Nigeria (CFN), with the registration number, 6525 and certificate number 08024. In the following year, another certificate of credence was given to the farmers department of this Gofta group. With registration number 7437 and certificate number 09036. The same year, the corporate affairs commission after seeing the effort this gofta world is exhibiting, decided to award them certificate of recognition of business. This certificate number is BN-039953.

The Constitution is prepared to help all members of Gofta m.p.c.s limited, Gofta Fadama III Cassava farmers co-operative Society, and the Gofta world enterprise Nigeria, to always remember what we are as a conglomerate of business minded persons, and also for us to remind ourselves that the purpose of coming together is to create an avenue to be of good use to one another. And also to assist the people around us.
This constitution, THE CONSTITUTION OF THE GOFTA GROUPS, is the parent constitution governing the activities of the Gofta m.p.c.s, limited Gofta Fadama III Cassava, plantain, fish farmers co-operative Society, and the Gofta world enterprise Nigeria.
This constitution has the autonomous power over other constitution, laws, and regulations previously used by any branch of this Gofta groups.
We all have the collective intention to liberate and strengthen our economy, conserve our productive venture, and most importantly make for economic self-reliance.
New members coming into this world of business men/women must remember that other great enterprise we see growing rapidly today, did not just achieve greatness through romanticizing their potentials for greatness; not did they become great serving as a convenient dumping ground for all frustrated and non responsible or inexperience set of people.
The crucial decisions that we must take if we want to be great therefore have to be taken by the people themselves. Note that these great enterprises we see around us today, has experienced temporary sufferings, inconveniences of apparent scarcity, and even low quality of personality in order to develop their produce.
To succeed quickly is not by producing for ourselves alone, but also to produce for export in order to generate fund to carry on successfully. The fact is as we practice, we gradually become perfect.
Every one of us should bear in mind that we can’t enjoy in a thing we have not labored for; for instance, a farmer suffers when he sows and enjoy when he reaps. Therefore, anybody coming into this business world as a member must endeavor to play his own part of making this enterprise grow. He can then talk about benefit when the fruit of his labor is visible. No member of this enterprise should ever think of reaping where he did not sow.
The autonomous power of this body therefore, lies in the Chief Executive Director (C.E.D) of this world of productive business men/ and women of inestimable value.
The initiator of this scheme Mr. Agbonlahor Osakue Osamuyimen stands the right of being the Chief Executive Director (C.E.D) of the Gofta groups.

The words used in this constitution like; Body, conglomerate, groups, organization, enterprise, and enterprises mean the same in the context of this constitution. And they all mean; Gofta m.p.c.s limited, Gofta Fadama III Cassava farmers co-operative Society, and the Gofta world enterprise Nigeria,

The executives in collaboration with the constitutional drafting committee of Gofta World Enterprise Nigeria, has hereby presented the result of the of the drafting of the constitution for all members of the GOFTA WORLD ENTERPRISE NIGERIA which will be the laws and regulation, guarding all the activities of Gofta to the Board Of Trustees of this enterprises

This constitution is entitled to such change, as is deemed necessary for the interest of the members of the GOFTA WORLD GROUPS in order to foster the promotion of the welfare of all members of the enterprise. Except the seat of the Chief Executive Director. “This is not eligible for amendment”
AND WHEREAS it is necessary for the constitution to be vested with the law.
NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEE OF GOFTA THROUGH THE PRESIDENT AS PERMITTED BE THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR; hereby decree as follows that: -
Enactment of a constitution for Gofta members:
A. There shall be for all members a constitution, which shall be set out in the schedule to this decree
B. The constitution set out in the schedule as aforesaid shall have the force of law and shall come into operation as therein provided.
We the members:
Of the Gofta Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Limited, Gofta fadama III cassava farmers co-operative Society, and the Gofta world enterprise, having solemnly resolved to live in unity and harmony as one indivisible and indissoluble organization under Jehovah, dedicated to the promotion of ideas and success within the Nigeria boundary, the Africa continent and the world at large. In order to promote the state, national, and international Co-operation and understanding.
And to provide:
For all members of the enterprises a constitution for the purpose of promoting the good intention of the initiator of this scheme and to be concern with the welfare of all its registered members on the principles of freedom, equality and justice. For the purpose of consolidating the progress of all Gofta members.
We do hereby make, enact and give to ourselves the following constitution, which after reading through and writing my name in the space provided and affixing my thumb to sign in the signature column, means I willingly accept to obey all the rules and regulations in this constitution.
