Why do we decide to promote Cassava?
Gofta world group as a family, has the collective intentions to make life easy and meaningful for its members and all who has confidence in It. hence the management of the group has given the farm section of the establishment the privilege to run the affairs of that section; but with strict monitoring by the management team of the Gofta world group as apex clout.
It will interest many readers of this book to know that Gofta world group today is the upshot of a group formed just two years ago, known as Gods Favor Traders Association.
Gods favor in its initial beginning had just eleven members (traders) to its credits. But as the intention of this group started to be visible to all, many out looker started trouping in. this led to the certification of this group by the ministry of commerce. Edo State with cert. no 08024.
After the inauguration of the group to a fully certified co-operative society limited by the chief co-operative officer, this group automatically became known as Gofta MPCS Limited
Some great men and women of honor and inestimable value that assisted the group one way or the other were honored by the group either as patron, matron, special advisers or adviser on communications.
The society has Mr. Ogieriakhi Augustine and Mr. Freeman Ologun as Patrons, Mrs. Jesuorobo Adesuwa, Matron. The adviser on administrative matters is the Persons of Pastor Johnson and Pastor Jesuorobo Elisha.
At this seam, when a review of what gave the management of Gofta world group the zeal to propel ahead is discussed, the person of Goftan Joy Ogberhie need to be remembered as she has been a dedicated and serious minded member of the group. In the area of attendance and meeting up with all dues required for the boost up of the group, she participated persistently. Hence we want to recognize her effort, and by means of this book; tell her thank you.
because all the registered members of Gofta has already resolved that their main focus is to liberate and strengthen their economy, conserve their productive ventures and most importantly make for economic self-reliance, Goftan Queen Osawaru did all the best she could for the group, during the event of the Inauguration in February 2006, in fact she played a major role in making the event a success.
Goftan Odaro Omoruyi was very useful to the Society during the Inauguration of the group. Today she is being recognized as being among the driving force that get Gofta to the position it has attain, so far.
Goftan Paul Egbon has been a major contributor to the speedy growth of this group. Mostly in the area of contributing his furniture workshop to the Society for use as a skill acquisition center to help those determined youth, who would like to acquire a skill but has no finance to pursue it. With the effort put in by the aforementioned people and some others like Mrs. Susie Agwu, Mrs. Efe Agbonlahor etc, the idea of going into the research of cassava became an easy thing for the Gofta farmers as Mr. Osazenaye Andrew the Farm Manager of the Gofta farms also played a major role in the pursuance of doing our best in really making the sector a success and also making Cassava the green gold. After carefully recognizing the driving force of the Gofta group, let’s now go into the matter properly.
