So far, the society has affected the lives of so many people in the state. Particularly, in the communities they operate (Ugbighoko, Eghudu, Utagban and Otubu Communities) they assist the people by way of helping them to boost their businesses. In two phases now, Gofta has given out soft loan to some traders that needs assistance to carry on in business and also to some that wanted to go into business.

Before given out loan, Gofta always by means of their task force, investigate these individuals and make sure they qualify for this loan. Before the loan is given, within the specified time (January-August), we have given out loan in two phases. The first disbursement was in April and the second in July.

     Because many people have noticed what Gofta is doing for the generality of the people, they  are now applying for assistance of loan from the Society. That is why Gofta limited now need the assistance of any institution that might be of help to us. In this present phase of loan disbursement. Many people applied. But, Gofta being a self help organization generate money they give out as loan within themselves. Thus to be able to meet the demand of these people that has already confided in our Society for succor, Gofta have to cry out in behalf of these people.

     The fact is as a Multi-purpose Co-operative Society, we are closer to the people than any other organization. That is why, in the series of free seminars we’ve held, the turn up was very encouraging. In it, the people present were educated on how they can be self-employed in the kind of businesses they engage in. After sensitizing the people about how they can manage the little they are given, gofta then help them with the little we can generate from amongst ourselves just to help the people to be self-dependent. This batch we are given out will be, strictly for the market women that really need it. Some youth that has the zeal to go into small scale trading too will be considered.

The happiness we have in Gofta now is that today, Gofta membership has reached a peak of thirty-five members. Many more people are eager to become a member of this Society.

 Like Jesus said to his disciples, you will no longer be fishers of fish but fishers of men, Gofta also says; we are no longer builders of structures but rather, we are now builders of people. That is why today our mark word is “Gofta! We build people!
